Our Story

In November 2025 a friend sent us an article from the New York Times describing a fire station that had its software costs rise 500% in a single year, crippling the station and distracting them from their mission.

As trustees of our local EMS station we thought to ourselves that we can never let this happen to us and further we wanted to make sure this never happened to any first response organization ever again. Above all else, RescueDesk is here to be and stay affordable regardless of what happens with the economy.

First response organizations deserve to be protected financially from unexpected price hikes so they can focus on saving lives, period.

Build and adjust the schedule, handle swaps and time off, and run email-driven availability checks—so open shifts get claimed and who's working stays clear.

Time Entry

Clock in and clock out for the shift you're working—simple on a phone, aligned with the schedule, and built for accurate time records.

Custom Forms

Rig checks, med checks, incident reports, and shift paperwork—defined by your SOPs, not locked to someone else's template.

What We Don't Do

  • Manage user accounts and passwords — Sign-in is powered by Microsoft so a Microsoft account is required for all users. Password resets, MFA, and identity security are handled by Microsoft and your admins.
  • Store your data — Your operational records live in your Microsoft 365 / SharePoint tenant. RescueDesk is granted access by your admins to your data so we can work with it securely.
  • Process payroll — Time is captured for operations; a direct relationship with a payroll company is still required. We offer custom payroll integrations by request.
  • 911, dispatch, or CAD — We do not take or route calls, recommend units, or assist in computer-aided dispatch.
  • Patient care or ePCR — We do not store clinical documentation, treatment records, or billing tied to patient care.
  • Fleet or telematics — We do not integrate with vehicle GPS, fleet maintenance, or apparatus lifecycle systems.
  • Training delivery / LMS — We do not host courses or replace a full learning-management system.
